Rosemarie Durr
The minute I touch the clay I am instantly in control and ready to create. The process is important to me, the making, being on the wheel. It’s all very therapeutic.
My Story
Having trained in the Crafts Council of Ireland’s world renowned Pottery Skills Course (Thomastown, Kilkenny) in 1996 Rosemarie worked as a production potter in some of Ireland’s leading pottery studios for several years.
In 2004 she opened up the studio shop with her husband, ceramic artist Andrew Ludick, in Castlecomer Estate Yard and Discovery Park. They work along side each other creating individual ranges as well as collaborating on work.
Crafstmanship and design are key to Rosemaries work. Each piece is thrown on the wheel using stoneware clay and designed to be used every day.
